COACT Colorado Flash Mob Video
2nd September 2014
On Children's Mental Health Awareness Day in May 2014, on-lookers in Civic Center Park were pleasantly surprised by a flash mob from COACT Colorado, the state's System of Care initiative. Youth involved in the leadership of the program selected the song "Hall of Fame" to represent overcoming their struggles and achieving their dreams. A group of youth, families, and providers performed a flash mob of the song in Civic Center Park before taking Hero of Hope cards up to the Capitol. Representative Tracy Kraft-Tharp greeted the group at the Capitol and later distributed the Hero of Hope cards to all of the legislators in Colorado. The cards ask the legislators to be Heroes of Hope for children's mental health by being a positive influence in the life of a child or youth who is struggling or feels alone, and by pledging to support efforts to build resilience in children and youth with mental health and substance use challenges.
